Menu Type

The Menu Plan Type page permits you to view and modify standard menus and grade ranges for comparison. You can also add new menu plan types from this page.

Note that Meal Session and Grade Range cannot be modified if the Menu Type has been used on a Menu Plan Template, Menu Cycle, or Menu Plan. Modifications are not allowed because changing Meal Session or Grade Range would affect the nutritional analysis for a Menu Plan Template, Menu Cycle or Menu Plan.

Description
The Description field allows you enter a specific description of the menu plan type. This name appears on menu plans, templates, cycles, and production schedules.

Program
The Program field consists of a drop-down lists that allows you to select the program the menu plan type belongs to.

Meal Session
The Meal Session field consists of a drop-down lists that allows you to select the meal session the menu plan type belongs to.

Grade Range
The Grade Range field consists of two drop-down lists, allowing you to select a specific grade range for the menu plan type you are searching. The first drop-down list allows you to select a beginning grade level and second drop-down list is to select an ending grade level.

Search
The Search button locates a menu plan type to edit, copy or delete based on the menu plan search criteria entered.

Cancel
The Cancel button terminates the request to search for a menu plan type and returns you back to the Menu Planning and Production page.

Add Menu Type
The Add Menu Type button allows you to add a new menu plan type. The Add Menu Type button will be grayed out if all sites are already set up.

Search Results

Description
The description of the menu plan type is displayed.

Program
The program of the menu plan type is displayed.

Meal Session
The meal session of the menu plan type is displayed.

Grade Range
The grade range of the menu plan type is displayed.

Edit
The Edit link allows you to edit the menu plan type for the selected site.

Delete
The Delete link allows you to delete the menu plan type for the selected site. As long as you have not used any menu types, you can safely delete them. Having fewer menu types makes it easier when creating cycles and menu plans.

Add Menu Type

To add a menu type, click the Menu Type link on the Menu Planning & Production page. Then, click Add Menu Type . A new entry will appear at the bottom of the list of menu types, which will look like the picture below.

Description

The Meal Session field consists of a drop-down lists that allows you to select the meal session the new menu plan type belongs to.

Grade Range
The Grade Range field consists of two drop-down lists, allowing you to select a specific grade range for the menu plan type you are adding. The first drop-down list allows you to select a beginning grade level and second drop-down list is to select an ending grade level.

Save
The Save button creates a menu plan type that matches the criteria entered.

Undo Arrow
The Undo link allows you to undo any changes made to the menu plan type you are creating.

Edit Menu Type

On the Menu Plan Type page, click Edit next to the menu plan you would like to change.

Description
The description of the menu plan type is now editable. You can now enter the description of the menu plan type.

Program
The program of the menu plan type is now editable. You can now select the program of the menu plan type from the drop-down list.

Meal Session
The meal session of the menu plan type is now editable. You can now select the meal session of the menu plan type from the drop-down list.

Grade Range
The grade range of the menu plan type is now editable. You can now select the beginning and ending grade level of the menu plan type from the drop-down lists.

Update
The Update link allows you to update the edited menu play type for the selected site.

Undo Arrow
The Undo link allows you to undo any changes made to the menu plan type for the selected site.
