Item Management
Access the Item Management section in WebSMARTT by selecting the Item Management tab from the WebSMARTT Home Page.
In this section, you can:
- Add, modify, and view items and recipes.
- Replace recipe ingredients.
- Create and view inventory groups and categories.
- Create and maintain sourcing information
- Consult allergen definitions.
- View and add measurements.
- Print item-related reports.
Note: You must select the site type as Central Office, Central Kitchen, or Warehouse in order to view the Item Management tab.
Generally, only one or two users in the district access this area of WebSMARTT to maintain item management in their organization. By default, the Item Management tab and all permissions available under that tab will not be assigned to any specific users.
Under the CO, CK, or Warehouse site type, the Item Management Main Menu contains six areas that are populated with links to additional pages. A description of each follows:
Item Info
View Items
Clicking the View Items link takes you to the View Items search page. Search for an item using item criteria or browse for items by letters in the alphabet.
Add a New Item or Recipe
Clicking the Add a New Item or Recipe link takes you to the Add New Item or Recipe page. Create a new item using the Item Setup process, which guides you through adding in all key information.
Recipe Info
View Recipes
Viewing recipes is the same as viewing items (see View Items above).
Replace Recipe Ingredients
The Replace Recipe Ingredients link takes you to the Replace Recipe Ingredient page. Search for the original ingredient and replace it with a new ingredient using a simple search process.
Remove Recipe Ingredients
Click this link to remove specific ingredients from recipes.
Item Category Groups
Inventory Categories
The Inventory Categories link takes you to the Inventory Categories page. View, add, edit, or delete inventory categories by searching or by selecting existing items you see listed.
Inventory Category Groups
The Inventory Category Groups link takes you to the Inventory Category Groups page. View, add, edit, or delete inventory category groups from this page.
Order Groups
The Order Groups link takes you to the Order Groups page. View, add, edit and delete Order Groups from this page.
USDA Categories
The USDA Categories link takes you to the USDA Categories page. You can view CNDB codes, USDA categories, and associated items from this page. You cannot edit USDA-issued data.
Setup
Inventory Category Sourcing Find
The Inventory Category Sourcing link takes you to the Inventory Category Sourcing Find page. View item sourcing details and search by inventory categories and site information> You can also add a new source from this page.
Allergen Definitions
The Allergen Definitions link takes you to the Allergen Definitions page. Add, edit, and delete allergen definitions from this page. You can also view associated items.
Attribute Definitions
The Attribute Definitions link takes you to the Attribute Definitions page. Attributes are item characteristics not directly associated with nutrition or allergens, such as Kosher or Certified Organic. Add, edit, and delete attribute definitions from this page.
Measurements
View Measurement Descriptions
The View Measurement Descriptions link takes you to the View Measurement Descriptions page. Search for measurement descriptions from this page.
Note: USDA item measurements are not editable.
Add New Measurement Description
The Add New Measurement Description link takes you to the Measurements Descriptions page. Add, view, and edit measurements from here.
Reporting
Select Reports
The Select Reports link takes you to the Item Reports page. Search by reports here using report names and other criteria.
Scalable Recipe Report
Use this quick link to search for an item description or ID to generate a scalable recipe report.
