Add New Menu Plan

To create a new menu plan, click the Add New Menu Plan link. This will display the Menu Plan Editor.

Menu Plan Editor

Site
This field defines the site that this menu plan applies to. If you only have permission to one site, your site will automatically appear.

Date
This field enables you to enter the date of the menu plan.

Feeding Figure
The feeding figure for this menu plan will default to zero. You will need to enter the actual feeding figure in this field.

Menu Type
This field enables you to set the type of menu plan, such as A la Carte, Lunch.

Menu Cycle
This field will be blank for ad hoc menu plans.

School Menu Description
Enter the items that will be used on the menu plan here. What you enter in this field appears on the School Menu Calendar.

Notes
Enter any notes about this menu plan here.

Menu Plan Items
Add items to the menu plan by entering the Item ID or Description in the Item ID/Description field. Click the magnifying glass button or press Enter to look up the item. If you entered the description, select the appropriate item from the search list.

Meal Component
The meal component contribution of each menu plan item displays here.

Portion Qty | Unit
These fields define the portion quantity and measurement unit of each menu plan item. For items containing multiple serving measurements, a drop-down box will be available to select the appropriate measurement. For example, applesauce served at an elementary school would be served in 1/3 cup measurements. At a middle school, it may be served in 1/2 cup.

Cycle Day Serving History
For ad hoc menus, there will be no cycle day serving history.

Meal Qty
Enter the projected meal quantity of each menu plan item here.

A la Carte Qty
Enter the projected a la carte quantity of each menu plan item here.

Moving Items
Use the up and down arrow buttons to change the order the items are listed; you can also do this by clicking and dragging an item from one part of the list to another.

Deleting Items
Click the red X to remove an item from the menu plan.

Reimbursable Meals
This section displays the reimbursable meals that are found based on the items being offered in the meal session's menu plan. Reimbursable meals are used for Meal Pattern Analysis. Reimbursable meals can be defined using the Reimbursable Meals link under Setup.

Add ReimbursableMeal
In addition to adding items individually, you can also add all the items from a reimbursable meal at once by using the Add Reimbursable Meal search field. Type the name of the reimbursable meal; when the reimbursable meal appears in the results below the field, click the meal name. The meal will appear in the Reimbursable Meals pane, and all of the items that make up the reimbursable meal will be added in the above list of items.

Save
When you are done, click Save to continue. Notice that the Planning Complete button becomes active.
