Menu Plan Items

Add items to the template by entering the Item ID or description in the Item ID/Description field. Click the magnifying glass button or press Enter to look up the item. If you entered the description, select the appropriate item from the search list.

Item Order
Each new item that is added will be added to the top of the item list. Items can be moved up or down the list by using the arrows to the left. Click the red X to delete an item from the template.

Meal Component
The Meal Component column will display the contribution that is set on the item. If the item does not have any contributions, the column will display "Undefined".

Portion Size
After all of your items have been added, enter the portion size for each item. The Unit field will display the serving unit from the item or recipe and can be changed if there is more than one serving unit.

Served as Meal
If the item will be served as part of a meal, check the Served as Meal % box and enter the percent of customers expected to get the item with a meal.
If the template is a la carte only, this field will always be zero. The % meals and % a la carte can be used optionally if there is no history for the system to go by for projections. The percentages will also be used for Nutrient Analysis. For example, if you enter 95% of the item to be used for meals versus 5% for a la carte, the program will calculate nutrient analysis based on 95% of the quantity on the menu plan.

Served as A La Carte
If the item will be served a la carte, check the Served as a la Carte % box and enter the percent of customers expected to purchase this item a la carte.

Note: Entering Served as a la Carte % is an option if you want to prepopulate the projections.

Save
Click Save when you are done adding items to your template.

Cancel
Click Cancel to stop creating the template and return to the Menu Planning and Production screen.
