Find/Add Items to Template(s)

The Find/Add Items to Templates link enables you to search for a template and add items to it.
There are three steps to add an item to the template:
- Search for the template.
- Select an item and portion size to add.
- Add the item.
Searching for the Template
You can search for a template by several criteria.
Template Name
Enter the name of the template you want to add items to. You can enter a partial name.
Meal Session
Select the meal session from the drop-down menu to limit search results to that session.
Menu Plan Type
Select the meal plan type from the drop-down menu to limit search results to that menu plan type.
Item
You can enter an Item ID or Description to search for any meal plan containing that item. Click the yellow magnifying glass to select the item from a list.
Grade Range
Select the grade range, from low to high, to limit the search results to meal plans in that range.
Search
Click Search after entering your criteria and any matching templates will display below.
Selecting an Item to Add
Enter the Item ID or Description to select an item to add to the template. Click the yellow magnifying glass to pick the item from a list. The item will be added to either the top or bottom of the list, depending on what you have set in Setup > Preferences.
Arranging Template Items
You can manually arrange the order by clicking the up and down arrows to the right of each item or by clicking and dragging the item to a new location in the list.
Portion Qty|Unit
After selecting an item to add, enter a quantity of portions to add to the template.
Served as Meal %
Enter a percentage value that will be served as a meal. As you add items served as meal, or adjust the percentage of that item served as a meal, the Total weighted (% Served as Meal) cost at the bottom of the list will automatically adjust based on the item's unit cost.
Served as A la Carte %
Enter a percentage value that will be served a la carte. Adjusting this value will not change the Total weighted cost, since a la carte items are not part of a meal.
Add the Item
After selecting a template and an item to add to it and setting the portion values, the Add link becomes active. Click it to add the item to that template. You will see a notification stating that the templates were saved with the new item.
