Add New Measurement Description

Description
The blank description field allows you to enter a custom measurement description.

Abbreviation
The blank abbreviation field allows you to enter a custom abbreviation of your measurement. This field is not required but is used where screen real estate is limited. This filed is limited to 10 characters and must be unique.

Type
The Type field is a drop down menu that allows you to select Weight, Volume, or Count as your custom type of measurement.

• Weight is the measured heaviness of each item. A menu item measured in ounces is an example of a weight measurement.
• Volume is the amount of three-dimensional space an object occupies. An example of volume is gallon.
• Count is a specific number of an item. An example of count is the amount of bottles of milk ordered by a school district.

Data Source
Data Source displays the where the data originated. This will default to district, and can't be changed, for any measurement added by you.

Ordering and Inventory
Check this field if this measurement will be used for Ordering & Inventory.

Serving and Ingredient
Check this field if this measurement will be used in recipes or on Menu Plans.

Save
The Save hyperlink will save any new measurement description you enter.

Undo Arrow
The Undo arrow allows you undo any changes you made to the measurement description field.

Page Number Hyperlinks
The Page Number hyperlink allows you to view the searched inventory sourcing by page number.

Records per Page
The "Show records per page" drop-down menu allows you the option to view 10, 25, 50 and 100 records per page.

Cancel
The Cancel button terminates any requests to search for a measurement descriptions and returns you back to the Item Management page.
