Physical Inventory Entry

The Physical Inventory Entry page allows you to edit the purchasing and inventory Quantity and Units of measurement of the item to be inventoried.

Adding an Item

New Item ID
The New Item ID field allows you to add an item by entering the ID of the item.

Add
The Add button adds an item based on the ID entered in New Item ID. If the item ID is incomplete, the Inventory Item Select page will open and allow you to select the item to add.

Entering Inventory

Bin
The Bin field displays the location the item is stored. The bin location may have more than one item. However, it is not recommended to mix different sizes of the same item in the same bin. Different sizes in separate bins are easier to take counts in the future.

Item ID
The Item ID field displays the ID of the item that is being inventoried.

Description
The Description field displays a brief description of the item.

Quantity (1st)
The first Quantity field allows you to enter a specific quantity for purchasing.
If you are creating a blind inventory, enter zero in the field if you do not find the item in inventory. If left blank, you are indicating that you do not want to change the item quantity and no changes will be applied to that particular lot.

Units (1st)
The first Units drop-down list allows you to select the type of measurement used for the purchasing quantity of the item. The type of measurement will consist of the largest unit associated with the item.
If the Inventory and Purchasing unit of measurement is the same, the Quantity and Units field for Inventory will be grayed out. Only the Quantity and Units field for Purchasing will be available.

Quantity (2nd)
The second Quantity field allows you to enter a specific quantity for Inventory.

Units (2nd)
The second Units drop down list allows you to select the type of measurement used for the Inventory quantity of the item.

Print
The Print button allows you to print a worksheet that can be used to record inventory quantities while taking inventory.
Note that if you are creating a blind inventory, the quantities will not print.

Confirm
The Confirm button validates the process of creating a physical inventory of the item based on the criteria entered on the Physical Inventory Entry page.

Reset
The Reset button resets all editable values to their default settings. When resetting, you will prompted to confirm your changes before resetting the values.

Cancel
The Cancel button terminates the request to inventory an item and returns you to the Inventory page.
