Franklin 9.0 Release Notes

Release Summary: The goal of this release was to address various defects in the program.

The following enhancements and modifications were made since version 9.0.2 and 9.0.3:

Fixes

• Fixed a bug that caused DataCenter sync to fail due to changes for a different bug.
• Fixed a bug that was failing to complete the “Detach DC Sibling” process when a Primary recipient was incorrectly attached to another Primary recipient. Now when a DC Sibling is attached to a primary, the button reads “Link to Primary Sibling” and when detaching a sibling, the button reads “Unlink from Primary Sibling”. The process will not allow attachment to another Primary. Changes will not be applied until the Apply or Ok button have been selected.
• Fixed a bug that was incorrectly adding students who are Verify for Cause after the November 15 date to section 5-8 of the FNS-742.

Fixes

• Fixed a bug in Agent that prevented reloading cached data before executing scheduled jobs during DataCenter syncs in Cloud.
• Fixed a bug in the Direct Certification import process that was failing to recognize Unit Type and Unit #.
• Fixed a bug in Online Applications maintenance that was preventing saving if reentering the existing password.
• Fixed a bug in the Sibling Link query to check for a valid case number before applying an associated status.
• Fixed a bug in Verification Selection letters that was queueing separate letters for CEP Siblings.

The following enhancements and modifications were made since version 8.5.0:

Note: DataCenter has also been updated to Enable Debug by Default and Include Log Files by default.

New Features

• Hold Applications with Duplicate Names - Applications with duplicate first and last names will be held for review.

• 2019-2020 Income Eligibility Guidelines - The system has been updated with the new IEGs for the 2019-2020 school year.

• 2018-2019 EOY Support - Added support for running End of Year processes for the 2018-2019 school year and the 2019-2020 Beginning of Year process

Enhancements

• Enable Debug by Default - In order to assist in troubleshooting issues, log config files are automatically set to debug and the default file size increased to 20MB
• Include Log Files - Updated Send Data to Tech to include Log Files by default for troubleshooting purposes
• Simplified DataCenter Sync - DataCenter Sync has been simplified to improve performance on SQL Servers and MCS Cloud instances.

  As Full DataCenter syncs should rarely occur, the functionality and location have changed. Once a Forced Full DataCenter Sync has occurred, the option will reset to disabled.
  Admin & Maintenance | System Settings | DataCenter | Force Full Refresh on Next Sync Upload Check this box to upload ALL student benefits (versus updates only), next time data is sent to DataCenter.
  Admin & Maintenance | System Settings | DataCenter | Force Full Refresh on Next Sync Download Check this box to download ALL available data from DataCenter (versus updates only), next time data is imported. Data includes SIS data, Schools, Tracks, Grades, PV2, etc

Fixes

• Application Freeze - Fixed a bug that was freezing the program when attempting to cancel an interactive scheduled job
• Email Notification Duplicating - Fixed a bug that was incorrectly queueing both Prior Year Expired and Application Processed letters when an application for a prior-year free student is processed
• Household Matching Utility - Fixed a bug that was incorrectly allowing the sharing of non-sharable DC Benefit sources
