Keyboard Update
From this page you can modify information on an existing keyboard. You can modify the items on the keyboard and the description, as well as the ID #.
Note: Keep in mind the items are created in WinSNAP, but can be added to a keyboard in WebSMARTT.
Description
Description is the name given to the keyboard. The description usually describes how the keyboard will be used, such as Elementary Lunch or Central Office Bulk Entry.
ID
The ID# is the number that identifies the keyboard to the system. This number can be used to link a keyboard to a meal session. For example keyboard 44 is used for all middle school breakfasts. A keyboard can be assigned to a specific meal session in WinSNAP, on the Setup | POS | Keyboards & Testing Tab.
Minimum and Maximum
Minimum and Maximum components required to make a meal can be set by a keyboard. This allows different terminals to have different requirements based on the items served, and the keyboard selected by the cashier.
Note: If you are using the Other session to reflect Lunch components you will want to change the default from 0 and 0 to 3 and 5.
Enter the minimum and maximum components or items required for the selected keyboard.
Print Button
There are two Print options. One is for printing a small keyboard, and one is for printing a regular-sized keyboard.
Note: All changes must be applied prior to printing the keyboard.
Print a small keyboard
Select Small from the drop-down menu and click Print to print a keyboard for the model 4D terminals.
Print a regular keyboard
Select Regular from the drop-down menu and click Print to print a keyboard for the model 4C or Mira terminals.
POS Items
This area lists all the available food items that can be placed on a keyboard. Click and drag an item to a key under Keyboard Layout to add the item to a keyboard. Use the search field to filter items by their name or item code. You are allowed to add an item to a keyboard more than once, so be mindful of unnecessary duplicates.
If you accidentally add an item twice, you don't like the placement of an item, or you no longer need an item on the keyboard, click and drag the item from Keyboard Layout to POS Items. This will remove the item from the keyboard.
Group A-D
Group A is located in the upper left hand corner of the keyboard. Group B is located in the upper right hand corner, and C is in the lower left hand corner of the keyboard. Group D is located in the lower right hand corner of the keyboard.
Groups break up the keyboard so it is easier to locate items. You can logically list your items for ease of use. For example, you may choose to place all the breakfast items in group A, all the lunch items in group C, all the bulk entry items in group B, and items that are only sometimes used in group D.
Item Description
If you hover your mouse cursor over an item, you will receive more information on the item. The name that is listed in the item list is the button name, which is defined on the Item | Item POS Details Tab within WinSNAP. The description is defined on the Item | Information Tab within WinSNAP.
