1. Welcome
Start and Login
Step 1 - To start the program, Double Click on the following icon located on your computer desktop. A single click and pressing the Enter key will also launch the program.
Step 2 - The following login screen will be displayed.
Step 3 - Type your User Name and Password in the space provided and then press the Enter key or click the Ok button.
Asterisks (stars) will be displayed in place of the characters that you are typing as a security measure to disguise your password and prevent others from learning your password.
Step 4 - When the main screen is displayed, please be sure that the correct School Name is displayed in the bottom left hand corner.
If the News & Announcements screen shown above to the right is displayed, click the Close button and answer No to the message that is displayed. These messages are typically for your Central Office only.
Moving Around
Use the Quick Launch for most of your daily operations.
When a button is outlined with dotted lines, simply press the ENTER key to select the function.
Use the Menu Selections for the additional functions.
Using the ENTER key
MCS offers a unique feature called TAB-on-ENTER. This means you may be able to press the Enter key to move to the next box on a screen. Most Windows programs require you to use the Tab key.
For example, on the following screen after entering the quantity for one item, press the Enter key to move to the quantity for the next item
Special Buttons
The Apply button will save the information entered and keep the form open.
The OK button will save the information entered and close the form.
The HELP button may be used to obtain detailed information about the current screen.
Add
Click this button to add additional information to the list of available selections.
More
Click this button for available information.
The Next function allows the user to save work and move to another screen. All forms and queries must be answered for this function to occur. Otherwise, error messages appear which prompt the user to address the missing information before continuing. Click the Next button to move to the next screen. When using the keyboard, press the Tab key until the Next function is outlined in black as shown above, and press the Enter key.
The Back function allows the user to go back to the previous screen by a single Left-click when the mouse is over the BACK key.
Setup Your School Information
Step 1 - From the main menu, select Utilities >Warehouse Options and the following form will be displayed:
- Type the Manager's Name, Manager's Email, Phone, and Fax in the boxes provided.
- Click the box to instruct the program to operate as follows:
- Automatically estimate quantities for production - When checked, the Production screen will automatically scale recipes based on planning counts and auto-fill the amount to be produced.
- Utilize locations when receiving - When checked, the Receiving screen will allow the user to change the location where the item will be stored.
- Use leftovers instead of serving counts on meal counts - When checked, the Meal Counts screen will allow the user to enter the leftover counts and automatically calculate the served counts for the selected menu.
- Use leftovers instead of serving counts on production - When checked, the Production Counts screen will allow the user to enter the leftover counts and automatically calculate the served counts for the selected recipe.
- Consider on-hand inventory when automatically filling an order - When checked, the Automatic Order process will consider on-hand inventory.
- Consider on-order inventory when automatically filling an order - When checked, the Automatic Order process will consider items that have already been ordered but not delivered.
- Automatically apply menu counts to recipe counts when planning - When checked, when the Planned Meal Counts are entered, the Recipe Counts are automatically filled.
Step 2 - Click the Ok button to save the changes.
