Which MCS programs are affected by TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 protocols?

  • AdminConsole
  • DataCenter
  • Edison

  • MySchoolApps
  • MSA Client
  • Newton

What do I need to do in order to ensure I have the correct versions with these security measures in place?
Simply login to AdminConsole and click Check the Web like you normally do when pulling upgrades.

Are there other security measures of which I should be aware?
We strongly recommend updating to .NET 4.5 Framework on computer running Windows 7 operating systems.

What else do I need to know?
Parents using MySchoolApps may be impacted by updates in security if they are running older browser versions on their computers which do not support TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 protocols.

Where can I learn more about why these changes are necessary?
You can learn more about security updates in our General Knowledge Center → General Information → MCS System Requirements or by clicking here.
