You can edit an operational step by changing the control measures that define the operational step. The control measures are the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs) associated with an operational step.

Important: Changing control measures for an operational step can have consequences throughout your operation.

Editing an Operational Step

  1. From the Operational Steps page, click Control Measures next to the operational step you would like to edit.
  2. The Edit Control Measures screen opens, and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are displayed.
Use the checkboxes to select which SOPs apply to the Operational Step.

  3. If necessary, you may create a new SOP that is not covered in the current SOP list. After creating a new SOP, it will show up in this list.

  4. Click Critical Control Points to edit the Critical Control Points (CCPs) of the Operational Step.

  5. You may edit the currently selected CCP by using the drop-down menu to select a different default CCP.
Important: Changing the default CCP is not recommended unless you are very sure the new CCP applies to ALL processes that contain this operational step.
  6. You may also add a new CCP for the operational step or delete existing CCPs that were user-created. You cannot delete or edit default CCPs for any operational step.
