The USDA defines a number of categories
in the CND database. You can import this database into WebSMARTT, which will cause them to appear under this link.
This page shows the CNDB code from the USDA, the category name, and a link that lets you see the items under that category. Clicking this link takes you to the Item Search page, which functions identically to the Item Search page found under the Item Info section. However, it will be limited to items in that USDA category.
Districts can assign items to USDA categories and use this as a searching or filtering tool to find items in a specific USDA category.
You cannot add, edit, or delete USDA categories.
