District
Overview |
---|
District allows the user to view District details and provides HTML links for ease of copying and pasting each established application language to your District's website. Quick links are available to navigate you to the proper setup options for Application Settings and Custom Strings/Languages. |
Attention Former ApplyForLunch Users
Please note that upon redesign of the system, Application Settings and Custom Strings/Languages are now located under Setup at the top-most level. You may still access those settings from the District page through a redirect link. Additionally, Manage Kiosks has been made a top-most level feature.
Your user must be a member of the District Administrator role in order to manage/view Global District settings. If you do not have the proper permissions, please see your system administrator for assistance. In most situations, these settings should only be modified during the initial setup. This is especially true in regards to the online application settings - these should not change during the school year!
From the MySchoolApps homepage, click on Manage District or click District at the top of the site window.
District Details
The global District settings (District Fields) can be viewed, but not edited by District users. The global settings include items such as pertinent District details, the Integration ID for your application processing system, current Status, and a link to test your applications if your District is set to Test Mode. These can only be edited by Heartland personnel. These settings are obtained and configured during the initial setup and in most cases should never be edited. However, if a change is required please submit a support case in order to initiate the change request.
Name - The name displayed to users during the application process.
Integration ID - The secret userID used by your application integration process (Application download).
State - The District's US state (used during District search/geo-location during the application process).
Zipcode - The District's postal zipcode (used during District search/geo-location during the application process).
Time Zone - Used to provide reports and application submission relative to the District's timezone.
Status - Displays the global status for the District (Active, Inactive, Disabled, Test, Beta).
Integration Locked? - Displays if integration is locked/disabled due to too many invalid logins.
If more than 5 failed integration attempts are attempted, all further integration is prevented until the District is unlocked by an administrator. This is a security policy for v2.x+ to help prevent brute force hack attempts.
Settings
The Settings button will redirect you to the Application Settings window. There you can update/customize settings for Contact Info, Public Assistance, Information Release, Miscellaneous Setup, Meal Prices, and Integration Settings as they apply to your District. For additional details, refer to Application Settings.
Test Mode Enabled (Only displays when the District is in Test Mode)
You should establish an End of Year Date in Setup → Application Settings → Misc Setup|District Miscellaneous Setup. On this date, MySchoolsApps will be placed into Test Mode. This hides the online application availability from parents and only allows access to the application via a special Test URL defined in the District window. This allows you to make customizations and adjustments in a protected pre-release site.
In order to review your changes, access the test URL by clicking Test Your District's Online Application Now.
Direct District Public Link
The District direct public link feature allows you to provide a special URL to your parents so they can skip the District search screen and immediately start filling out their application.
