Navigate to Admin & Maintenance > System Settings > External Integrations.
Select the Enable Newton Integration checkbox.
Click Ok when finished.
Meal Type Mapping
In this step, you will tell Edison which Meal Types coordinate with Newton.
Only one meal type can be associated with a Newton meal type.
Navigate to Advanced Setup > Meal Types.
Select the associated Newton Meal Type in the Newton Meal Type column that you want to associate with each Edison Meal Type.
When finished mapping your Meal Types, click Save Changes.
Menu Count Types
Menu Count Types allows you to tell Edison which grades in Newton correspond to the Meal Count Types in Edison.
Navigate to Recipes & Menus > Menu Count Types.
Select the grades to associate with each Menu Count Type from the Newton Grades column.
When finished, select Save Changes.
Map Edison Recipes to Newton Items
You will need to tell Edison which Edison recipes coordinate with items in Newton.
Navigate to Recipes & Menus > Recipes.
From the Recipe Maintenance screen, locate the recipe you would like to map to a Newton menu item, then click on the recipe.
At the end of the Newton Item Link field, click the three dots button to search for a menu item in Newton to link to the selected recipe.
Once you have selected the Newton menu item, click Save Changes.
Meal Counts
The Meal Count Entry Screen will now be updated with the meal counts that have been pulled from MCS Newton.
Select a site in Edison to proceed with Meal Count Entry.
Select Production from the Home tab in Edison
Configure the Serving Date and the Meal Type you would like to view the Meal Counts for, then select the Meal Counts option.
From the meal counts screen, you can click the plus sign to expand each menu and enter counts served for each Meal Count Type.
Production Records
When Newton Integration is enabled, Production Records will show a new “Newton Served” field. This field will show the sales data brought over from Newton so Edison can calculate how much inventory was used to produce those items.
