I see In Progress batches. What does this mean?

The system views the serving line as active and meal transactions may still be occurring or the serving line has not been closed. In Progress batches can be handled in a few ways.

I completed my workday, but I'm unsure how to post.

Posting is easy and should be completed before starting a new operating day. Posting an operating day allows you to enter bank deposits, daily figures, expenses & revenue, labor hours, miscellaneous counts, and review POS batches,.

I have been unable to post for a number of days. What do I do?

If you have been unable to post for a few days, don't worry. Newton has the ability to allow you (depending upon permissions) to post multiple operating days on the correct day.

When Reviewing Transactions, I see an interrupted status. What do I do?

If you see Interrupted as a status, it indicates the serving line dropped connectivity with the main computer due to a drop in network communication, the computer powered down in the middle of transactions, or a power outage occurred. The steps to retrieve interrupted batches can easily be resolved.

There is an additional school in which we provide meals. Is there a different procedure for posting the operating day?

If the additional school is a Fed-By school, yes. Fed-By schools may maintain reporting information such as daily attendance, incomes/expenses, and miscellaneous counts. The procedure for posting Fed-By schools occurs at the same time as your primary school.
