From this page you can modify information on an existing keyboard. You can modify the items on the keyboard and the description, as well as the ID #.

Note: Keep in mind the items are created in WinSNAP, but can be added to a keyboard in WebSMARTT.

Description

Description is the name given to the keyboard. The description usually describes how the keyboard will be used, such as Elementary Lunch or Central Office Bulk Entry.

ID

The ID# is the number that identifies the keyboard to the system. This number can be used to link a keyboard to a meal session. For example keyboard 44 is used for all middle school breakfasts. A keyboard can be assigned to a specific meal session in WinSNAP, on the Setup | POS | Keyboards & Testing Tab.

Minimum and Maximum

Minimum and Maximum components required to make a meal can be set by a keyboard. This allows different terminals to have different requirements based on the items served, and the keyboard selected by the cashier.

Note: If you are using the Other session to reflect Lunch components you will want to change the default from 0 and 0 to 3 and 5.

Enter the minimum and maximum components or items required for the selected keyboard.

Print Button

There are two Print options. One is for printing a small keyboard, and one is for printing a regular-sized keyboard.

Note: All changes must be applied prior to printing the keyboard.

Print a small keyboard

Select a food item. Click a button. Small from the drop-down menu and click Print to print a keyboard for the model 4D terminals.

Print a regular keyboard

Select Regular from the drop-down menu and click Print to print a keyboard for the model 4C or Mira terminals.

POS Items

This area lists all the available food items that can be placed on a keyboard. Highlight Click and drag an item you want to add to the keyboard, then select a key within a quadrant. This 2 step process associates a key under Keyboard Layout to add the item to a keykeyboard. You add the items one selection at a time (select one item, select one key). Be careful, the system allows you Use the search field to filter items by their name or item code. You are allowed to add an item to a keyboard more than once.Clear item from button, so be mindful of unnecessary duplicates.

If you accidentally add an item twice, you don't like the placement of an item, or you no longer need an item on the keyboard, highlight click and drag the clear item from button selection (located at the top of the item list), then select the key containing the unwanted item. You will be asked to confirm the selection (are you sure you want to delete the item from this button). Select OK to continue and item from Keyboard Layout to POS Items. This will remove the item from the button, or select cancel and cancel the potential changekeyboard.

Group A-D

Quadrant Group A is located in the upper left hand corner of the keyboard. Quadrant Group B is located in the upper right hand corner, and C is in the lower left hand corner of the keyboard. Quadrant Group D is located in the lower right hand corner of the keyboard.

Quadrant is a way of breaking Groups break up the keyboard , so it is easier to locate items. The keyboard is divided into 4 sections, thus the name quadrant (or four parts). You can logically list your items for ease of use. For example, you may choose to place all the breakfast items in quadrant group A, all the lunch items in quadrant group C,
all the bulk entry items in quadrant group B, and items that are only sometimes used in quadrant group D.Long

Item Description

If you select hover your mouse cursor over an item then select the Long Description Button , you will receive more information on the item you selected. The name that is listed in the item list is the button name, which was is defined on the Item | Item POS Details Tab within WinSNAP. The long description is the full description defined on the Item | Information Tab within WinSNAP.

Apply saves

Save

Click Save to save the changes you made to the keyboard and takes you to the Changes Applied page.

Delete Button
Delete deletes the keyboard that was selected, and brings you to the Changes Applied page. Click Continue to return to the Keyboard Select page where the keyboard is no longer displayed.

Cancel

Click Cancel to discard any changes made to the selected keyboard and returns you return to the Keyboard Select page.

Reset Button
Reset discards any changes you made to the selected keyboard, but keeps you at the Keyboard Update page to allow you to enter more modifications.

Print Button
