Overview

These settings allow you to customize and control the display names (strings) and the formatting of these public assistance programs. Please review these carefully to ensure that you have selected the correct programs for your District. All default settings are noted by * unless otherwise noted in blue text.

If you want to add a custom disclosure message, you should first add the message in the custom strings area for each language active for your District and THEN check the box next to that message in this section to make it visible on the website. You must also modify the corresponding custom strings for each language as well.



Establish SNAP SettingsTANF/FITAP/AFDC Settings and FDPIR Settings as applicable. Then, click Update Settings


SNAP Settings

  • SNAP Program Name - The name of program to display to parent during the application process in lieu of 'SNAP' (e.g. Foodstamp, Food Coupon, etc).  This is a custom string value that will substitute your custom value throughout the online application.

  • SNAP Validation Method - Rules when using SNAP case numbers.  You should adjust this setting to match your state's case number format.               

    • *Numeric Only - Enforces that all case numbers should be numeric only. (e.g. 123456789)

    • Alphanumeric Only - Enforces that all case numbers should allow alphanumeric only. (e.g. 1A3456DF5)

    • Custom Regular Expression ( RegEx) - Case number validation using a regular expression.  To use this, please select this option in the drop-down and then enter your regular expression in the SNAP Regular Expression textbox.

    • State specific plugins (e.g. Florida, California, etc) - Special MCS developed plugins that follow known state rules for case number format.

  • SNAP Regular Expression - Used in conjunction with the 'GenericRegEx' validation method.  Enter the JavaScript regular expression to customize what is or is not accepted as a SNAP case number. For assistance in creating a regular expression, contact Support. (This field is ignored if 'GenericRegEx' is not selected.) 
    (info) The JavaScript Regular Expression statement entered should also be the Regular Expression statement used in your application processing system and Point of Sale system in order to ensure information is properly communicated across all systems.

  • SNAP Case Number Min - The minimum length allowed for the case number.  For example, to allow a case number of exactly 6 characters (no less), you would set this value to '6'. These are ignored if using a State/District plugin or RegEx validation method. 
    Zero and/or blank are unsupported values for both Min and Max Case Numbers

  • SNAP Case Number Max - The maximum length allowed for the case number.  For example, to allow a case number of exactly 6 characters (no more), you would set this value to '6'. These are ignored if using a State/District plugin or RegEx validation method. 
    Zero and/or blank are unsupported values for both Min and Max Case Numbers
    (info) The maximum system-supported case number is 20 characters.

  • *Prompt For Family SNAP Benefits - Selecting this option allows the applicant to provide a family (global) level SNAP case number for use. 

  • Prompt For Student SNAP Benefits - Selecting this option allows the applicant to provide a student level SNAP case number. 

  • *Share SNAP Case Numbers - Choose whether or not a SNAP Case Number entered on a student can be shared with the other students in the household. These parameters are used to determine whether or not household info/adult SSN are required when some students have valid case numbers and others do not.

TANF/FITAP/AFDC Settings

  • TANF Program Name - The name of the program to display to parents during the application process in lieu of 'TANF' (e.g. FITAP, AFDC, etc).  This is a custom string value that will substitute your custom value throughout the online application.

    • *Same As SNAP - Specify this value if the SNAP validation should be exactly the same as the TANF validation that was set above.

    • Custom Regular Expression (RegEx) - Case number validation using a regular expression.  To use this, please select this option in the drop-down and then enter your regular expression in the TANF/FITAP/AFDC Regular Expression textbox.

Household Case Number Recipient

  • Household Case Number Owner Name - Determines if the system will prompt for the household case number recipient (if case number is provided). 
    Hidden - Do not present this option to the user.
    Optional - Present this option to the user, but optional.
    *Required - Present this option to the user and make it required.

  • Household Case Number Owner Name RegEx - Enter the JavaScript regular expression to customize what is or is not accepted as a household case number owner/recipient name. For assistance in creating a regular expression, contact Support. (This field is ignored unless 'Household Case Number Owner Name' is Required.)
