Documentation about MCS Software is available in Confluence. Additional navigation information of navigation is included in the homepage of each knowledge base overview page.

  1. Login Log in to the Customer Portal by accessing the Heartland Payment Systems - School Solutions - MCS Software homepage. Then, select one of the following 3 options:
    1. Click on Sign In and select MCS Customer Portal.
    2. Click the Support link on the right under MCS Software and select the MCS Customer Portal link.
    3. Click the Support tab and select the MCS Customer Portal link.

  2. Enter your Username and Password and click Login.

  3. Choose the MCS Knowledge Center link.

  4. Choose Connect.
  5. Click on the SUPPORT tab at the top of the window.
  6. From the drop-down menu, select ARTICLES.
  7. Click on VIEW MCS KNOWLEDGE CENTER to be directed to the Confluence landing page.

  8. Choose the space of the documentation you would like to view. (For this example, the Newton knowledge base has been chosen.)

  9. Navigation of the manuals can be accomplished through links, the sidebar, or the breadcrumb trail. The page you select appears to the right of the navigation sidebar.

    1. Expandable Details - Some sections of the documentation are expandable to provide added detail while saving space. Click on the arrow or link next to the arrow to expand/collapse details.

    2. Table of Contents - The table of contents provides links to sections in the page to allow for quick navigation and access of information.

    3. Additional Links - Additional links are provided in the documentation. The links are to additional pages within the Franklin Manual, other reference material in the Knowledge Base, external websites, and email contacts.

    4. Search - There are various ways to search within Confluence. 
      Global Site Search - You may use the top search panel to conduct a search across the entire Confluence instance. This will generate a broad list of all available keywords throughout all spaces. e.g. Menus would return suggestions where "menus" appears in the entire instance with suggestions in the Newton, Edison, and the General Knowledge Center spaces.
      Specific Space Search - You may use the space search, located at the top of every manual page to enter keywords and return suggestions specific to the space/manual in which you are conducting the search. e.g. Serving Line will return suggestions where "serving line" appears in the Newton manual.

    • Search the entire site - Use the Search box in the upper right-hand corner to type a term. Notice a list of items appears as the term is entered as well as the location (Franklin, Newton, Apply for Lunch). Then, use the mouse or keyboard to scroll and select an item.
    • Search the space - Use the Search box on the left to type a term. The search will narrow results only to the space you are currently viewing (Franklin: reports).
