Overview

The Start Day section allows you to start a new operating day, reopen a past day, and enter after-schools counts.

From the Point-of-Sale tab, locate Start Day in the ribbon.

If Start New Day or Reopen Past Day is grayed out, it indicates a current day is still in progress. To learn more on how to close the day, refer to Finish Day.

Start New Day

In order to begin serving meals, an operating day must first be started.

Step 1: Locate and click on Start New Day from the ribbon or Start Operating Day from the checklist.

Step 2:  In the Start New Operating Day window, select the correct operating day and click Ok.

Reopen Past Day

Reopen a Past Day allows you to make edits or add transactions to a day that has already been posted.

Step 1: Locate and click on Reopen Past Day from the ribbon.

Step 2: Select the operating day from the list. Then, click Edit Day.

Step 3: Enter a comment explaining the reason you are editing the serving day.

You will see a processes running as the information is pulled into the system.

Proceed with making any necessary edits/postings.

After School Counts

The After-School Counts allows you to post specific meals (free snack, supper, etc.) that occurred after the last meal of the last operating day without having to re-open and re-post the day. If a second operating day has been started, the ability to select one of the past two operating days is available. Editing after-school counts can only occur once in the below procedures. Additional edits must occur by re-opening and re-posting a day.

Step 1: Locate and click on After-School Counts.

Step 2: Select which operating day in which you wish to enter school counts. Then, click Ok.

This window may not appear if a second operating day has not been started. If this window does not appear, continue to Step 3.

Step 3: Enter count numbers for each meal (and fed-by school, if applicable). Then, click Ok.
