Overview


If you are Central Office Staff and running reports from your Central Office computer, do not attach a school's database to your machine. Attaching a school to your computer will result in breaking the school's attachment. Instead, Central Office staff should Select Cafeteria.

  1. Click on the Newton icon in the upper left-hand corner of the program. Then, choose Select Cafeteria.
  2. Use the drop-down menu to select a cafeteria. Then, click Ok.

    You will see a series of processes run as cafeteria information is established.

    You can now run Central Office reports for a specific cafeteria
  3. . Once you have finished running reports for a cafeteria, you can deselect the cafeteria without logging out of the system.

Click on the Newton icon in the upper left-hand corner of the program. Then, choose Deselect Cafeteria.



From the Reports and Letters tab, locate and click on Central Office.

The following Central Office Reports now have the ability to "Run for each school in the school filter." This allows the report to be run separately for each school while grouping the entire District together in one file for ease of printing and distribution.

  • Cashier Over and Short
  • Deleted POS Transactions
  • Items Sold to Inactive Customers
  • Over and Short Report
  • Posting Summary




Allergy and Special Diet Tracking Report

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Allergy and Special Diet Tracking.
  2. Establish Allergy and Special Diet Tracking options. Then, click Ok.

Balance Summary by School

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Balance Summary by School.
  2. Establish Balance Summary by School options. Then, click Ok.

Cashier Over and Short Report

The Over/Short report, previously available in WinFSCA, is now available in Edison and reports the cash collected by price category and YTD over/short totals.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Cashier Over and Short Report.
  2. Establish Cashier Over and Short Report options. Then, click Ok.

Central Office Adjustments

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Central Office Adjustments.
  2. Establish Central Office Adjustment options. Then, click Ok.

Cloud Readiness Tests

The Newton Cloud Readiness Test report displays health check results in Newton in order to identify which schools cannot talk to MCS Cloud prior to migration from on-premise to cloud-based services.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Cloud Readiness Tests.
  2. Establish Cross-Site Multi-Reimbursable options. Then, click Ok.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Cross-Site Multi-Reimbursable.
  2. Establish Cross-Site Multi-Reimbursable options. Then, click Ok.

Deleted POS Transactions

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Deleted POS Transactions.
  2. Establish Deleted POS Transaction options. Then, click Ok.

Duplicate Customers

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Duplicate Customers.
  2. Establish Duplicate Customer options. Then, click Ok.

Import 3rd Party Log

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Import 3rd Party Log.
  2. Select the data row. Then, click Ok.

Items Sold to Inactive Customers

The Items Sold to Inactive Students report will aide clients in the audit process. The report displays the date, student information, and items sold to inactive students.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Items Sold to Inactive Customers.
  2. Establish Items Sold to Inactive Customers options. Then, click Ok.

Master Customer List

The Master Customer List displays customers, statuses, and balances. Additional filters and options are included in the report.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Master Customer List.
  2. Establish Master Custom List options. Then, click Ok.

Meal Eligibility Corrections Errors

The Meal Eligibility Corrections Errors report displays when errors occur to a student's meal eligibility status when attempting to correct statuses through the Meal Eligibility Corrections utility or scheduled job. You may choose to include exception details to the errors received.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Meal Eligibility Corrections Errors.
  2. Establish Meal Eligibility Corrections Errors options. Then, click Ok.

Meal Eligibility Corrections

The Meal Eligibility Corrections report displays changes to a student's meal eligibility status from their prior status to updated status when corrections have been made through the Meal Eligibility Corrections utility or scheduled job.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Meal Eligibility Corrections.
  2. Establish Meal Eligibility Corrections options. Then, click Ok.

Menu Change Tracking Overview

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Menu Change Tracking Overview.
  2. Establish Menu Change Tracking Overview options. Then, click Ok.

NSF Checks

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click NSF Checks.
  2. Establish NSF Check options. Then, click Ok.

Online Payments

The Online Payment report allows you to view payments made to customer accounts with time/date stamps including transaction and batch numbers, amounts, and payment methods.

When running the Online Payments report, the most recent batches will appear at the end of the report. Please note there is no batch number or time/date stamp. It may take up to 3 days for credit card payments to post with a batch # and time/date stamp and up to 5 days for check payments to post with a batch and time/date stamp.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Online Payments.
  2. Establish Online Payment options. Then, click Ok.

    By selecting both Transaction Date Ranges and Batch Date Ranges, the results become more narrowed than if only one date range option is selected.

Outdated Workstations Report

The Outdated Workstations Report will display the workstation name and additional details about every workstation where someone logged in to Newton running a soon-to-be outdated version of .NET. 

Newton 10.0 will be the last version of Newton to run on version 4.0 of the .NET Framework.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Outdated Workstations.
  2. Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

    Include workstations used since Date - Use the Calendar tool to select a date.

Over and Short Report

The Over/Short report, previously available in WinFSCA, is now available in Edison and reports the cash collected by price category and YTD over/short totals.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Over and Short Report.
  2. Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

Permission Override Requests

The Permission Override Request report shows any database and cafeteria override requests, time/date, permission details, and the user requesting the override. If a request was authorized for release, the time/date, user releasing the request, and comments are displayed. Additionally, pending override requests are also displayed.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Permission Override Requests.
  2. Establish Permission Override Request options. Then, click Ok.

POS Item Details

The POS Item Detail Report provides Item Description, Category, Defined Price (Alacarte/At Cost), Offer versus Serve Type, Meal Components, and Allergens.

Not all information may be displayed on your report if all item options have not been defined. e.g. meal components

From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click POS Item Details.

Posting Summary

The Posting Summary report shows time/date postings details for a specific day, the school or supervisor/central office staff who posted, and the total meal counts.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click Posting Summary.
  2. Establish Posting Summary options. Then, click Ok.

            Filter by Cafeteria - Select a specific Cafeteria, or Category and Cluster by using the drop-down menu. You may also select the Entire District.
            Show Posting Information for Operating Day - Select an operating day by using the calendar tool.
            Meal Types - Select the meal types which you would like to appear on the report.
            Report Mode - Select how posting summary information should be reported.
                    Include all cafeterias
                    Only cafeterias that have posted
                    Only cafeterias that have not posted
            
    Run for each cafeteria in the cafeteria filter - Select the checkbox to run the report for each cafeteria in the cafeteria filter.

School Transfers

The School Transfers report shows student transfers from one school to another school, the date the transfer has occurred/will occur, and the unallocated balance that will follow the student.

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click School Transfers.
  2. Establish School Transfer options. Then, click Ok.

User Action Log

The User Action Log reports show actions performed, time/date, user/location, and cafeteria. 

  1. From the Reports and Letters tab, select Central Office. Then, click User Action Log.
  2. Establish User Action Log options. Then, click Ok.
