To begin the installation process, you must have the MCS Admin Console and Application Server installed on your system. See the MCS Admin Console-Application Server Administration Guide for more information.
Step 1: Log in to the MCS Software Customer Portal
You must have a customer portal account to access the website. If you do not have an account, please check with your District's MCS Software contact to find out if an account already exists for your District. If you are a primary point of contact, please submit a request to Customer Support for the creation of an account.
Step 2: Download the Franklin Installation File
- Select the Software Downloads tab in the Customer Portal, or choose Download software in the Common Links section.
- Select the Franklin folder.
- Select the InstallFranklin.exe file. Choose either Run or Save (systems not using Internet Explorer may not have a Run option).
If you Save the file, take note where the file is being saved on your computer or network.
Step 3: Install Franklin
If the Install file was Saved and not Run, double-click the file to install. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.
- If a Security Warning appears, select Run.
- Click Next on the Franklin Setup Wizard.
- Click I Agree on the License Agreement window.
- On the Franklin Setup window, select whether to install Microsoft .NET Framework (.NET Framework must be installed on your system for Franklin to function).
- On the Installation Complete window, click Next.
- On the Completing the Franklin Setup Wizard window, click Finish. Franklin is now installed.
Step 4: Setup the Connection Method in the Admin Console
If you do not know the server location or connection method, contact your IT department.
- Open the MCS Admin Console.
