MySchoolApps - Nutrikids Integration

Overview

Overview

This document covers several MSA items that are specific to Nutrikids Point of Sale.

Note: At this time, Nutrikids is unable to automate the export/import process for applications. Please see sections 1 & 2 to complete the process manually.

Exporting Applications from MSA Client

Perform the following steps to export applications out of MSA Client.

  1. From the Utilities tab, select Advanced. Then, select Export Data from the drop-down menu.

  2. Click MSA Export to NK, then click Run. Click Ok from the Submit Applications window.

Overwrite File Error

If an error message appears (shown below) this indicates you already have exported some data but not yet imported into Nutrikids. In this case, you must press “No”  to the message and complete the Nutrikids import first.

Importing Applications into Nutrikids

Perform the following steps to use the Nutrikids Scanning Bridge to import applications into Nutrikids.

Nutrikids Enterprise Only

If you’re an Enterprise customer, the scanning bridge is integrated into the Free & Red. Apps tab as shown below. This means you have the option to launch the scanning bridge from the desktop icon or the program integration.

Application Scanning - Launches the MSA Client program.
Scanning Bridge - Launches the scanning bridge (instructions below).
Import Applications - Launches the scanning bridge and immediately selects to import applications.

Nutrikids Scanning Bridge

  1. From your desktop, double-click the Nutrikids Scanning Bridge icon.

  2. Select the desired option from the Application import In process window, then select Next >>.

Import Free & Reduced Applications - Select the check box to import applications and show a report of the results.
Print Application Import Results - Select the check box to view previous import results sorted by import date.
Note: If your version of the Scanning Bridge shows Verification Import Results, you can safely ignore this option when using the utility with MySchoolApps.

  3. Click Yes to each of the prompts:
Would you like letters to be generated for applications that are updated during this import?
You are about to import scanned Free & Reduced Applications! Would you like to continue?

Applications are now entered into Nutrikids according to the Result listed in the Import results.

Accessing Previous Import Results

Note: Previous reports are only available from the computer that ran the original import.

Perform the following steps to access previous import results.

  1. Open the Application Scanning Bridge, then select the check box for Print Application Import Results and click Next.

  2. Select the check box for the associated import and result type (In the Print section), then select Print.

  3. The import results will show in a list. To print the results, select Print in the upper-left corner.

Import Result Notes Breakdown

The following image is an example of the Nutrikids Scanning Bridge Application Import Results, followed by a breakdown of each reason (note) as to why an application may not have imported successfully.

Newly added application

This indicates a new application was added to Nutrikids. This includes a new application number which is indicated in the NUTRIKIDS app ID column near the left of the report.

Application (#) was successfully updated!

This indicates a previously entered application in Nutrikids has been updated with new application information.

Application Conflict - Students are Directly Certified.

This indicates one or more students on the application are already noted as DC in the Nutrikids system. In this instance, if there are additional non-DC students on the MSA application, it’s recommended they manually apply for the needed extensions in Nutrikids.

Student(s) on NUTRIKIDS App#() are not listed

This indicates a student is listed on an existing application in Nutrikids who isn’t listed in the incoming MSA application. Sometimes the application will need manual attention in Nutrikids, MSA Client, or both. Contacting the parent may help determine the best course of action.

Application type could not be determined

This indicates a mismatch between the public assistance settings on the MSA website and the public assistance settings in MSA Client. If you see this note please correct the settings or call MySchoolApps Support.

Printing Letters In Nutrikids

Printing MSA application result letters is completed in Nutrikids exactly the same way as it usually is for regular applications. MSA application letters will appear under the “Administrator” account regardless of which Nutrikids user imported the applications.
Please refer to the Nutrikids Free and Reduced User Guide for instructions.
