Nutrient Analysis Reports


Overview

Standard nutrient analysis reports include reports that directly relate with recipes, nutritional standards and needs, meal patterns, and run a weighted nutrient analysis report to ensure meals are meeting all requirements for reimbursement. Reports require you to establish criteria in order to obtain the report results you are seeking.




From the Reports tab, select Nutrient Analysis Reports. Then, select the appropriate report you wish to create.

You may choose to print or export the report. After you have finished printing or exporting, click Close Print Preview.

The following Nutrient Analysis Reports now have the ability to "Run for each school in the school filter." This allows the report to be run separately for each school while grouping the entire District together in one file for ease of printing and distribution.

  • Meal Pattern Analysis

Filter by Item - Report Criteria Enhancements (Edison 5.1)

Updates to the Filter by Item report criteria have been made to support selecting multiple items when filtering for a Specific Item and the ability to filter by Brand.

Specific Item:

  1. In the criteria screen, select Filter by Item: Specific Item.
  2. Click the ellipsis icon.
  3. Use the Search field to locate one or more items.
  4. Place checkmark in the box for the appropriate items. Then, click Ok.
  5. Note that the number of items selected is noted in the Specific Item field. Click Ok once you have established all report criteria.

The following Nutrient Analysis Reports have been updated with these features:

  • Food Item Nutrient Analysis
  • Food Item Nutrient Analysis (Extended)

Carbohydrate Analysis

The Carbohydrate Analysis report allows you to analyze counts for menus based on Menu Count Type and Meal Type. By default, the current week date range is selected.

  1. From the Nutrient Analysis Reports option, select Carbohydrate Analysis.
  2. Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

    Date Range (Inclusive) - Use the calendar tool to select a From and to date range.
    Analyze Carb Counts for Site - Use the magnifier icon to locate a specific site.
    Menu Count Type - Select a menu count type to include in the report.
    Meal Type - Select one or more meal types to include in the report.
    Run for each site in the site filter - The report will be run separately for each site while grouping the entire District into one printable file.

Food Item Nutrient Analysis

  1. From the Nutrient Analysis Reports option, select Food Item Nutrient Analysis.
  2. Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

    Filter by Item - Select how you would like to filter items for the report.
            Specific Item - Click on the ellipsis icon and search tool.
            Specific Catalog Number - Click the ellipsis icon and search tool.
            Item Storage Category - Use the drop-down menu to select a category.
            Item Usage Type - Use the drop-down menu to select a use type.
            Ordering Category - Use the drop-down menu to select an ordering category.
            Brand - Use the drop-down menu to select a specific brand.
            By Other Category - Use the drop-down menu to select additional categories and subcategories.
            All Items - Select to include inventory of all items. Include Inactive Items and Include Active Items are selected by default.
    OptionsCN Database Only - Select to only include items attached to the CN database in the report.
    Show Nutrition per - Select how to report nutritional values.

Food Item Nutrient Analysis (Extended)

  1. From the Nutrient Analysis Reports option, select Food Item Nutrient Analysis (Extended).
  2. Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

    As nutrients are selected, additional columns are added to the report. If selecting multiple nutrients to include in a report, you should consider reducing the font size.


    Filter by Item - Select how you would like to filter items for the report.
            Specific Item - Click on the ellipsis icon and search tool.
            Specific Catalog Number - Click the ellipsis icon and search tool.
            Item Storage Category - Use the drop-down menu to select a category.
            Item Usage Type - Use the drop-down menu to select a use type.
            Ordering Category - Use the drop-down menu to select an ordering category.
            Brand - Use the drop-down menu to select a specific brand.
            By Other Category - Use the drop-down menu to select additional categories and subcategories.

Meal Pattern Analysis

  1. From the Nutrient Analysis Reports option, select Menu Pattern Analysis.
  2. Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

    Date Range (Inclusive) - Use the calendar tool to select a From and to date range.
    Analyze Meal Patterns for Site - Select a specific site by using the magnifier icon.
    Menu Count Type - Select one or the menu count types to include in the report.
    Meal Type - Select one or more meal types.
    OptionsSplit Menus for Each Entree - Select to split entrees when more than one entree is combined with a recipe/menu.
    Run for each site in the site filter - The report will be run separately for each site while grouping the entire District into one printable file.

Nutrient Standards

  1. From the Nutrient Analysis Reports option, select Nutrient Standards.
  2. Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

    Menu Count Types - Select one or more menu count types to include in the report.
    Options - Select one or more options to include in the report.

Recipe Listing

  1. From the Nutrient Analysis Reports option, select Recipe Listing.
  2. Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

    Filter by Recipe - Select how you would like to filter recipes for the report.
            Specific Recipes - Click the ellipsis icon and search tool.
            Recipe Category - Use the drop-down menu to select a category.
            All Recipes - Select to include all recipes.
    Group Records By - You may choose to group records and apply page breaks between record groupings by using the drop-down menu and selecting options.
    Options - Select one or more options to include in the report.

Recipe Nutrient Composition

  1. From the Nutrient Analysis Reports option, select Recipe Nutrient Composition.
  2. Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

    Filter by Recipe - Select how you would like to filter recipes for the report.
            Specific Recipe - Click the ellipsis icon and search tool.
            Recipe Category - Use the drop-down menu to select a category.
            All Recipes - Select to include all recipes.
    Options - Click to Show All Nutrient Data.

Weighted Nutrient Analysis

The weighted nutrient analysis report analyzes recipes for a period of 3-7 days. The results shown reflect if a period meets nutrient standards for the selected period and reflects any deficiencies in nutrition. You can manually enter counts, use planned counts, use served counts, or select a menu template. This features allows you to edit, save, recall, and print analysis worksheets without affecting menu templates.

If a period does not meet nutrition requirements, future recipe components can be adjusted in order to meet those requirements.

  1. From the Nutrient Analysis Reports option, select Weighted Nutrient Analysis.
  2. Select Create New Worksheet. You may also select an existing worksheet and click Edit Worksheet to review a past Weighted Nutrient Analysis report.

    Delete a Weighted Nutrient Analysis Worksheet

    Select a Weighted Nutrient Analysis Worksheet from the list of saved worksheets. Then, click Delete Worksheet.

  3. Establish source criteria. Then, click Ok.

    Date Range - Use the calendar tools to select a start through end date range. *Dates must range from 3 to 7 days.
    Meal Type - Select one or more meal types.
    Source - Select a source to analyze nutrients through weighing.
            Manual Entry - Manually enter meal counts.
            Menu Planning Counts - Click the magnifier icon to select a site (if applicable). Then, select a counts option.
            Menu Template - Click the magnifier icon to select a menu template. Then, manually enter counts or use the sum or planned counts for all sites.

  4. Review and edit (if applicable) menu counts. Then, click Print and select to print the Weighted Nutrient Analysis, Weighted Nutrient Analysis: Details by Recipe or the Detailed Worksheet by Nutrient report.

    1. Use the drop-down menu for Menu Count Type to select the correct menu count type category (Pre-K, K-5, 6-8, 9-12, etc.).

    2. For manual entry, you may enter counts one of two ways:

      1. Enter total counts for the day.

      2. Expand the day by clicking the + sign and enter counts for each menu item.

    3. Additional Options - You may also select Add MenuRemove MenuAdd Serving Day, or Remove Serving Day and follow the search and selection options.

      If the Analysis Source options are incorrect, you may choose Change Source to change selection criteria.

       

       Weighted Nutrient Analysis - Reports the total nutrient analysis for the established time period.

      Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

      Menu Count Type - Select which Menu Count Type you would like to analyze.
      Options - By default, Nutrients with No Defined Standards is included.

       Weighted Nutrient Analysis: Detail by Recipe - Breaks down detailed nutrient information for each recipe.

      Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

      Menu Count Type - Select which Menu Count Type you would like to analyze.
      Options - By default, Nutrients with No Defined Standards is included.


       Detailed Worksheet by Nutrient - Weighted Nutrient Analysis: Daily Recipes - Breaks down detailed nutrient information factors for each day and weekly totals.

      Establish report criteria. Then, click Ok.

      Menu Count Type - Select which Menu Count Type you would like to analyze.
      Options - By default, Nutrients with No Defined Standards is not included.
