If a school is fed-by a primary cafeteria, you must post the operating day for each site. For more information about Fed-By Schools versus Feeder Schools, refer to General Newton Questions in the Tips & Troubleshooting section.


Attach the Fed-By school

A Fed-By school is attached to a primary school.


Step 1: From the Administration and Maintenance tab, select Cafeteria Setup. Then, Cafeterias.


Step 2: Fed-By schools are added to a primary school by selecting the primary school and clicking Edit.

 

Step 3: Establish the Fed-By school and settings.

  • Click on the Schools tab.
  • Click the Add button to add a school.
  • If the school meals will not be included on the claim, place a checkmark in the correct cell in the Exclude From Claim column.
  • Click Ok once you are done.


Posting the Operating Day (Cafeteria Operator/Back Office)


Step 1: After you have completed all operations for the day, post the operating day by selecting Post Operating Day from the Checklist or Post Day from the Point-of-Sale tab.


Step 2: Complete Post Operating Day procedures. Click Ok once you have completed all necessary procedures.

  • Bank Deposit - Enter bank deposit figures.



  • Daily Figures - Compete Daily Figures for each school.
    • Complete necessary changes to the daily figures for the primary school.
    • Mark the figures as Reviewed.
    • Use the drop-down menu to select the Fed-By school.
    • Complete necessary changes to the daily figures for the fed-by school.
    • Mark figures as Reviewed.





  • Expenses & Revenue - Complete expenses and revenue for each school (if applicable).



  • Labor Hours - Complete labor hours. Labor hours are for the primary school only (if applicable).



  • Misc Counts - Complete miscellaneous posting counts for each school (if applicable).



  • POS Batches - Review POS batches by selecting a batch and clicking the Review button.


Run Reports


Run any necessary reports. The Daily Recap report is a good example to show how the meals served are recorded.


Step 1: From the Reports and Letters tab, select After Posting. Then, Daily Recap.


Step 2: Establish Daily Recap options. Then, click Ok.

  • Cafeteria - Use the drop-down menu to select a cafeteria.
  • Operating Date - Use the calendar to choose an operating date.
