Installing MCS Software on your system involves 3 steps: Downloading, Configuring and Installing. The downloading and installation procedure is the same for most software packages, excluding Inventory ManagementWinFSIM.

Downloading the Software 

To access the download files you must have a

customer portal

Customer Connect account. If you do not have an account please check with your District's MCS Software contact to determine if an account already exists for your District. If you are a primary Point of Contact, please submit a request to

Customer

Support  for the creation of an account.

Step 1: Connect to the MCS Software Customer Portal and
  1. From Customer Connectlogin with your user name and password.

Step 2: Select the Software Downloads tab in the Customer Portal or Portal Quick Links or choose Download software in the Common Links section.

Step 3: Select the appropriate folder. 

 

Step 4: 
  1. Click the SUPPORT link and select Downloads.
  2. Click VIEW MCS DOWNLOADS.
  3. Locate and click on the Franklin folder to open it.
  4. Select the Install xxx.exe file.

 Setup the Connection Method in the Admin Console

If you do not know the server location or connection method, contact your IT department.

 

Step 1: 
  1. Locate and
open
  1. open the MCS Admin Console by logging in with your user name and password.

  1. Locate and click on the Applications tab, select the Connection Methods option.

  1. Select the software package being installed from the Application Name section then click Edit.

  1. Enter the Application Connection information and click Ok.

Step 1: Locate
  1. Locate where you have downloaded the file and
double
  1. double-click on the downloaded Install xxx.exe.file.

  1. A setup window will appear. Click Next to begin running the setup process.

  1. You will then see a license agreement. Please read the statement and

  1. XP users may have to download .NET Framework on their system (service pack 4.0). 
    The redistributable version of .NET can be downloaded on a separate machine and installed separately if needed.

  1. Once the installation is complete,
click

  1. The Completing the Franklin Setup
Wizard window
  1. Wizard window will appear. Click Finish to exit out of the setup wizard. Franklin is now installed.

InfoUpgrade Error - If you see the Not found Exception Error when launching the software, verify the program has been included in the Application Upgrade section of the Admin Console.
