The MClock Menu

Time Keeper window.  While small, this easily overlooked menu contains several very important functions. 

Once the MClock icon is selected, the following menu will appear.

Attaching and Detaching a terminal is a powerful tool in Timekeeper.  Once a terminal is attached, it will be able to be used to clock in and clock out.  Detaching a terminal removes that ability from a particular terminal.  The process is quite easy.

To Attach a Terminal

  1. Select the MClock menu.

  2. Select Terminal Attachment.

  3. A window will appear with all of the available terminals.  This window will also show if the particular terminal is attached (able to be used for clocking in or out) or unattached (unable to be used for clocking in or out.)

  4. Locate the terminal you wish to attach or detach and select it.

  5. Once you have selected the terminal you wish to attach, simply click the attach button.  Once you do this, the selected terminal will be able to be used to clock in and out. If you do not wish to modify a particular terminal, click the close button and no changes will be made.

To Detach a Terminal

Time Keeper gives you the ability to detach a terminal from a computer as well.

Warning

Terminal detachment should only be performed by a system administrator. Once a terminal is detached, clock-in and clock-out cannot occur at the the site location through standard operations.

 

  1. Select Terminal Attachment.

  2. If the terminal is attached to a computer, the following window will appear.  This window will show to which computer your terminal is attached.

  3. Simply click the detach button.

  4. You will see the following window appear.

  5. Select Yes and the terminal will be detached and unable for clocking in and out.

Return to Terminal Mode

Terminal Mode is what most employees will see and use on a daily basis.  This menu selection will allow you to easily switch to Terminal Mode and back again.

  1. Select Return to Terminal Mode.

  2. After selecting this menu item, you will be returned to Terminal Mode.

    You may have to minimize or hide windows to see the Terminal Mode.  It is small and easily hidden behind other windows.

    The Clock In / Out window allows your employees to clock in or out using a Username and Password or a fingerprint scanner.  If you don't have a scanner configured, you will see an error message.

  3. To return to Admin Mode, simply the System Login button.

  4. Once you click the System Login button, you will be asked for your Username and Password.  Enter these and you will be returned to the

To Quit Timekeeper

If you wish to shut down Timekeeper, the following steps should be taken.

  1. Select Close Time Keeper from the MClock menu.

  2. The following menu will appear.  Select Yes to quit Timekeeper.
